Customer Service Specialist

This is a Full-time position in New Orleans, LA posted July 16, 2021.

Produces, verifies and issues official and unofficial transcripts of students and alumnis academic record(s); serves as one of the offices specialist. When necessary, this position registers and assists students with their schedules; processes graduation applications; assists with all grading processes; provides customer service to students, the university community and the metropolitan community at large. This position also assists the directors and associate directors of Student Records with technical systems tasks requiring upper level functionality with the Microsoft Suite, Focus report writing and distribution and maintenance of data on the SIS Plus system where necessary. The position provides backup support for the directors and associate directors of Student Records during each of their peak times and in their absence.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree and experience in a student or public records office preferred. Proficiency and experience with personal computers using the Microsoft Suite and all programs associated with the SIS Plus academic software program. Ability to communicate verbally, in writing and electronically in an effective, professional manner. Knowledge of SCTs Student Information System Plus highly desired. Must be comfortable, on the phone and in person, interacting with the customers of the Office of Student Records. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a calm, friendly, efficient and professional manner. Ability to establish and maintain successful working relationships with the University community and team work relationship with staff in the Office of Student Records. Committed to a student-centered campus and to the concept of customer service as the highest priority in our office. Willingness to become knowledgeable of new software products as deemed necessary. Willingness and ability to change work processes to compliment new technologies. Must be a self-starter who is able to work with limited supervision. Must pay attention to the detail and accuracy of work. Support progressive growth and improvement in student services. Willingness to work irregular hours and weekends as necessary. University policies on the possession, use and sale of alcohol and illegal drugs are outlined. The Campus sexual Assault Program and policy is described. Campus crime statistics as defined under this law for the last three calendar years are included.
