This is a Full-time position in Baton Rouge, LA posted July 13, 2021.

SUMMARYThis position is responsible for the reporting, recording and processing of time for the hourly employees of John H. Carter Co., Inc. and its subsidiaries (“the Company”). The individual must ensure that all time entry is complete by the deadline for payroll processing. This position is also responsible for tracking employee’s leave.This position requires a steady work habit at all times. The employee must demonstrate the ability to remain focused on work with multiple interruptions daily. In addition, this position can be demanding in terms of time management, knowledge, skills, and commitment to complete tasks daily. This position requires sound decisions and discretion to protect confidential information. The individual must behave and be able to interact with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels within the organization in a professional, business-like manner, while treating all such individuals with dignity and respect.The Company believes that each employee makes a significant contribution to our success. It is our expectation that each employee will offer his/her services wherever and whenever necessary, to ensure the success of our endeavors.RESPONSIBILITIESTime Keeping Responsibilities:Ensures all hourly punches, job transfers, call-outs and on-call time is recorded in the Company’s time keeping systemReviews timesheets for accuracy and missing time prior to payroll processingWorks closely with managers reviewing their employee’s timesheetsAnswer manager’s questions on how to properly enter employee’s time into timesheetsEmail managers in reference to missing timeOther General Responsibilities:Processes hourly semi-monthly payrollTracks leave requests in accordance with company policySchedules drug test and physical for new hiresRuns background checksProcess terminationsESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIREDStrong oral and written communications that reflect a professional, business approachAttention to detailAbility to follow-throughCan work independently with limited supervisionGood self-management skills, including information organization and time managementAbility to work collaboratively across departmental functionsProficient with MS Windows, Outlook, Word, and ExcelKnowledge of Ultimate Software (UKG) a plusASSOCIATED JOB COMPETENCIESIntegrityProfessionalismInitiativeDependability and ReliabilityAccountabilityChecking, examining and RecordingCommunication – Listening and SpeakingCustomer FocusPlanning and OrganizingWorkplace Computer ApplicationsREQUIRED AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS 2 to 3 years of private industry experience required1 to 2 years of payroll processing experience requiredPLEASE NOTE: John H Carter Company is not accepting unsolicited assistance from search firms/employment agencies for this employment opportunity.
