Energy Advisor


This is a Full-time position in New Orleans, LA posted May 9, 2021.

Seeking an experienced energy efficiency program outreach and field support professional to perform business, contractor, and project development activities for Entergy New Orleans’ energy efficiency program, Energy Smart.

The ideal candidate should have experience with utility-sponsored energy efficiency programs.

The candidate should have a strong field support and outreach background and excellent time management skills including the ability to monitor and manage efficiency project progress while seeking additional opportunities within new and repeat customers.

Candidate will be responsible for leveraging existing relationships with customers and contractors and generating new business to build the pipeline of energy-saving projects to meet program goals.

Essential functions include targeting high potential prospects, building and maintaining relationships with key customer accounts and segments, identifying energy-saving solutions at customer facilities, conducting pre
– and post-inspections of installations of energy efficient equipment.

Candidate will act as an Energy Advisor by helping customers with their unique opportunities and energy efficiency initiatives.

Staff will work directly on the Energy Smart commercial and industrial program team which encompasses marketing, outreach, operations, engineering, training and management functions.

Staff will work in the program office with the team as a representative of the Energy Smart program.

This role is a Full time direct hire with a subcontractor to APTIM on the Energy Smart program..*Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:* + Work as part of an energy efficiency team ensuring that customers and trade allies are aware of the program, identifying energy-savings opportunities, and assisting with program participation + Assistance with completing project application submissions from customers, contractors, engineers/consultants, and other program participants in order to ascertain compliance with program guidelines and procedures + Maintain, update, and add entries to the system databases accurately + Provide assistance?with customer service, scheduling and other issues as needed + Direct communications with customers and trade ally contractors + Identifying and implementing process improvements + Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information.*Basic Qualifications:* + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field with 3+ years of experience ?

+ 1+ years of experience with energy efficiency technologies and utility incentive programs + Experience in the energy efficiency field with specific technical knowledge related to the installation of energy efficiency products and services + Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information + Ability to apply detailed knowledge of organizational procedures to make independent decisions and serve as a credible resource for a senior management team + Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors + Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions + Strong communication skills, experience with client engagement and coordination + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and Dynamics + Experience with tracking systems and databases + Advanced written and oral communication skills, and presentation skills + Experience working in a team setting and collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders + Strong customer service skills + Good organizational and planning skills + Ability to build and maintain relationships + Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and a reliable vehicle.*Desired/Preferred Qualifications:* + Master’s degree or higher in a related field and 3 or more years of related work experience + 3-5 years of sales or outreach experience + 2-3 years’ experience in the energy efficiency industry + Understanding of energy efficiency technologies and energy-saving solutions + Previous experience working with manufacturers, distributors, or installers of energy efficient equipment including lighting, HVAC, refrigeration, motor drives, or compressed air systems in either technical sales or field support role + Experience interacting with diverse populations and demographic groups Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled Applicants with a physical or mental disability who require a reasonable accommodation for any part of the application or hiring process may make their request known by e-mailing (see below) or calling for assistance.
