IT Quality Assurance Analyst

Job Summary: The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst is responsible for timely testing and implementation of development projects that are functional, reliable, and meet requirements and expectations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with various departments and software development teams to both gather and assess business requirements as well as establish, evaluate, and validate technical requirements

• Participate in development planning meetings to provide input on functional requirements, product design, schedule, and/or potential problems, and recommend technical alternatives and/or enhancements

• Accountable for ensuring readiness of scope, business goals, and objectives prior to project initiation

• Establish and maintain open line of communication with both end users and IT regarding status updates and testing

• Identify gaps and provide technical expertise in business requirements for system functional specifications and scale new and current systems, processes, and procedures in a cost-effective manner

• Create, review, and execute test cases to ensure accuracy and completeness for company applications

• Validate existing functionality, bug fixes, and new features for software releases, and run database queries to ensure data integrity and confirm proper data placement during program operation

• Document, track, and verify defects and fixes across products, platforms, and releases and coordinate with developers to resolve technical issues

• Write, revise, and verify test procedures for program design and document bugs, defects, and fixes

• Lead development and implementation of automated scripting to test, track, and verify defects in software programs

• Establish and maintain processes and controls to ensure data quality and integrity issues are surfaced and addressed on an ongoing basis

• Participate in and/or lead process improvement initiatives

• Ensure continuous improvement through proper testing, verification, and validation coverage to ensure deliverables meet expectations

• Research and help resolve production issues and defects
Marginal Duties:

• Assist in establishing QA testing standards, processes, and procedures

• Create and maintain knowledge base of technical documentation for training

• Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field strongly preferred

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business management, project management, and/or quality assurance

• Experience in requirements management from concept to implementation

• Prior programming experience preferred

• Ability to reason through complex requirements and create applicable test scenarios

• Ability to write basic SQL queries to create test data and verify test results

• Thorough understanding of QA best practices, test strategy and planning, test case development, defect tracking, and test automation

• Experience in corporate office setting preferred

• Highly organized and efficient with strong attention to detail

• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff
Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Supervision Received: 

• Works under general supervision of the Director of IT Development, Applications, and Analytics    
Working Conditions:

• This position operates in a professional office environment with opportunity to work from home upon meeting training, eligibility, and performance requirements as deemed appropriate by management

• This is a full-time position (40 hours/week)

• Overtime may be required 

• Travel may be required
